Nigerian iconic singer, songwriter and performer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has released a short film for three songs off the deluxe version of his ‘Made in Lagos’ album.
The Afrobeats poster-boy, after the global success of the original ‘Made in Lagos’ album, decided to release the deluxe edition in August. A “deluxe” album is basically a re-release of an initial album, but with additional content relating to that same project.
The ‘Made in Lagos Deluxe album’ had four additional songs with two features. The added songs included ‘Anoti’, ‘Mood‘, featuring buzzing Nigerian singer ‘Buju‘, ‘Steady’ and then ‘Essence (Remix’, which featured Canadian superstar Justin Bieber as well as Nigerian songstress Tems, who featured in the original version of the song.
As requests for visuals from both the ‘Made in Lagos’ album and its deluxe version continue to intensify, Wizkid and his team cleverly decided to kill “three birds with one stone”.
Released today on December 20th, 2021, the short film, which lasted ten minutes, saw visuals for ‘Anoti’, ‘Mood’, and ‘Steady’ all embedded into one. The short film was directed by Ghanaian-American creative director Kuukua Eshun and Wizkid, with cameo appearances from one part of R2bees, Omar Sterling, and Buju.
