Nigerian singer and DJ, Cuppy confessed that she would have given up on music a long time ago, but for the burning passion within her that has ensured that she stays strong and relentless. This keen spirit and undying attitude remains the force driving her towards her success.
This info was revealed on Cuppy‘s official Instagram account on Friday, the 28th of May 2021 via the story she posted. This particular post serves as an act of encouragement for people facing hardship, struggles and disappointments. Also, it is an attestation to the fact that such is the case faced by people when pursuing their dreams, wishes and aspirations. She implored people to always follow their heart desire as passion is the only thing that has kept her from quitting music. The post reads as follows;
“Follow your heart and do your job wit PASSION…. When following your dreams, there’s going to be so many bad days and disappointments. That’s the TRUTH. Passion is the only thing that keeps me from melting down or from quitting. My brand is all about proving that I can make money whilst doing what I want and still be responsible, and still be happy, and make also my family proud.”
Cuppy transioned from being a DJ to a full fledged musical artist by releasing songs. Her debut single “Green Light” featuring Tekno was released in 2017. It was largely successful but criticisms followed her with many people giving the verdict that her music is terrible and leaves room for improvement. These criticisms did not stop her from releasing more songs as she responded with better sounds particularly the chart topping “Gelato” with Zlatan and her debut album, “Original Copy” which comprises of several hit songs such as “Feel Good” with Fireboy DML, “Litty Lit” with Teni and “Karma” with Stonebwoy.
Cuppy is unperturbed and her position has been made clear time and again. More recently, she went on a Twitter rant expressing her feelings as to how she would no longer needs validation or praises from others.
