Nigerian singer and songwriter, Oxlade collaborates with budding singer, Troniq Music and high profile beatsmith Coublon to deliver an impressive body of work, a four-track EP titled “Eclipse”.
“Eclipse” is a cocoon of falsetto-draped soundbeds over which Oxlade navigates on the complexities of love with his infectious lyricis. The EP consists of 4 full length tracks with various expressions and nuances, while “More” displays an eagerness for romance, “Ojuju” folds a sense of trepidation between its polyrhythms. With its beguiling refrains, dub bassline and mellifluous chords, “Incomplete” best captures the magic of this duo.
With the release of the EP, Oxlade continues to prove his uniqueness and persistence across Africa in a manner that seems like he’s not going away anytime soon.
