Nigerian artist TeeZee has released a brand new single, “New Government” featuring alté artiste, Prettyboy D-O and Ghanian afro-beats artiste, Kofi Mole.
The single, “New Government” is a mid tempo afro bounce song that finds the artistes expressing their thoughts on the state of affairs in the society while establishing their authority on the new system put in place by them and their supporters. It is evident that they intend to do things differently from the previous regimes that governed our society. As D-O sings on the catchy hook, “But now there’s a new government in charge/Pretty be the new government in charge/Teezee be the new government in charge”.
Accompanying the single is a Yaw Phanta-directed video that depicts TeeZee and his collaborators in a triumphant mood with clips of their dominance spreading across the streets of Accra, Ghana. The alté movement pioneers, TeeZee and Prettyboy D-O are cast in an official press briefing, sitting in a place of authority while delivering the news about the new government in charge. The pair address how there is a new government capable of ushering the people into a new light while asking for support from their constituents. The video also captures all artists in a more colourful light on the streets, besides a car delivering their respective verses.
