
United Captain, Bruno Fernandes during the course of the week, scored a decisive hat-trick to lead his side to a cruising victory against 10-man opposition, Real Sociedad at the Theatre of Dreams and secured a Europa League quarter-final show down with French club, Olympique Lyon.
Fernandes opened his scoring sheet in the 15th minute when he converted a penalty kick secured by Rasmund Hojlund after an inside-the-box tackle on the talisman.
The play maker once again converted a spot kick in the 49th minute after Joshua Zirkee attacking from the left flank was fouled by the opposition defender.
Fernandes completed his historic hat-trick, marking his second hat-trick tally since joining the club as he parried a low finish across goal into the far corner before fellow Portugese international Diogo Dalot drilled home a fourth and final goal at the 38-second mark of stoppage time.
