Ghanaian Songstress, Gyakie has officially announced the title for her forthcoming debut album, “After Midnight”.
Gyakie made the announcement about the forthcoming album on the 19th of March 2025 via her youtube channel with a brief message stating: “when the album is about you, it takes longer to make. 3 years now! straight from the heart and soul. I havenāt released music because i donāt do this to compete or win but rather to genuinely give what i have. I go into my shells so i can give you music that feeds into your soul. Also, i might not be physically present in your faces but i believe my voice is constantly in your ears & that brings fulfilment to my heart. keep streaming Gyakie music, the album is coming! š¦”
The album’s theme is centred around Gyakieās upbringing particularly her familial ties with her mother whose spiritual ritual of praying for her and her siblings after midnight helped shape their psyche and strengthened their bond as they carry on with the ritual whenever they are together. According to her, “It was a consistent routine, and it still is. That time of the night holds so much meaning for me.”
