Davido Joins FELA as the Only Nigerians to be inducted into the Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame

Davido has become the second Nigerian artist after Fela Kuti to be inducted into the Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame.

The singer was named among the 2026 honorees in Atlanta, Georgia.

The recognition highlights his impact on global music and his role in expanding Afrobeats’ reach worldwide. He’ll be celebrated alongside other figures who have shaped Black culture and entertainment.

The 2026 induction ceremony is set for June 1 in Atlanta’s Historic Westside, according to organizers. The Walk of Fame, created in 2021 by the Black American Music Association and the Georgia Entertainment Caucus, honors individuals who have influenced Black entertainment across generations. Honorees receive plaques along the Atlanta walkway as a permanent tribute.

Davido joins this year’s class with rapper Ludacris, gospel artist Paul S. Morton, and former Atlanta Mayor Maynard Jackson. He also stands alongside Fela Kuti, one of the African icons previously recognized by the organization.

Other past inductees include Beyoncé, Usher, Stevie Wonder, and Mary J. Blige.

Davido has established himself as one of Africa’s biggest music exports. His 2023 album Timeless earned Grammy nominations, and his recent project 5IVE has continued to boost his international presence.
