Grammy-Award winning superstar, Tems drops the music video for “What You Need”, reinforcing the track’s themes of isolation and personal reflection.
“What You Need” was written and produced by Tems alongside frequent collaborator GuiltyBeatz, it serves as a single from her 2025 surprise EP, ‘Love Is a Kingdom’. Following the release of a Colors performance of the song which was released on 29 January 2026, it debuted on the Billboard Hot 100, earning Tems her seventh entry and her second solo entry.
Directed by Ayinde Anderson, the cinematic visual for the single employs architectural symmetry and portrait-style framing to interpret the song’s themes of boundary-setting, private intimacy, and external relationship noise.
