Alternative rap artist, Zaylevelten returns with new EP, “B4Saveme”.
“B4Saveme” is the second EP by Tenski and as the title suggests, the EP is a precursor to his forthcoming mixtape, ‘Save Me’. The EP consists of 4 tracks and a single feature from Mavin producer, ThisizLondon.
The opening track is named and sampled after Wizkid’s 2010-inspired hit, “Tease Me”. The second track, “SuperMega” is a fast tempo self-conceited record that sees Tenski elevate himself in self praise, as he sings: “Supermega, anytime I enter, be like Superman / Level’ yami, you na Superman / Ọmọ iyami, come and save the day (Yami, come and save the day)”. On the penultimate track, “Yeye Talk”, Tenski attempts to rise above frivolous talks, preferring to focus on money and things that matter. The closing track, “Update” is a status report on his musical progress.
Produced by a motley of soundsmiths, the project is a deep dive into hip-hop emotion with Tenski crafting a unique fusion of experimental trap, rage, and cloud-rap mixed with Nigerian slang, pidgin, and Alté influences.
