UK-Based Afrobeats singer, Sona has released his highly anticipated project, “Blue Skies & Bad Decisions”.
“Blue Skies & Bad Decisions” is a 5-track solo offering that reflects the title, living life care free, to the fullest extent, without minding the consequences of any bad decisions that may be made in the process. The titular opening track makes this clear on a low tempo afropop production while the second track, ‘Igbadun’, an upbeat record, is centred around feelings of enjoying life with a love interest all through the night till the early morning. On the middle track, ‘You’, Sona serenades his love interest with romantic entreaties, daring her to choose him without minding what anyone thinks as he tries to win her over. The penultimate track, ‘Swell’ continues with the thematic expression of romance with Sona confessing his feelings for his romantic interest, who makes his head swell, urging her to be his lover. The final track, ‘So Mad’ is a summertime dance-ready track that expresses themes of partying, good vibes, good wxxd and women.
Altogether, the EP is a well curated project with sonic direction and lyrical clarity that embodies the genius that is Sona.
