German music production collective, KITSCHKRIEG feature Nigerian singer, Omah Lay, German music duo, Blumengarten, and German-Nigerian trio, 255 on the remix of their viral record, “Gut Genug (Afro Version)”.
“Gut Genug (Afro Version)” is a re-imagination of the original Hochdeutsch record that made history as one of the first German songs to break into the US Billboard charts in the last few decades. The Afro-inspired remix brings one of Africa’s finest, Omah Lay to the track and he delivers with his signature style, doing what he knows how to do best, gliding over the beat with emotion laden lyrics that can be internalised and felt by the audience.
On the production end, KITSCHKRIEG takes a minimalist approach, keeping the atmosphere intact – sparse, warm and atmospheric, leaving enough room for his collaborators to float seamlessly. 255 also adds another texture to the mix, and it all holds together without feeling forced.
The new single is a cross-continental collaborative effort bringing together Afro-centric and Euro-centric influences to appeal to a broader global audience.
