Afro-soul singer, Faith Martins releases a brand new soulful, Yoruba song, “Dàjú”.
“Dàjú” is song inspired by a simple but weighty reminder from someone close to her who said to her: “Má a rìn pèlé pèlé, fojú dájú. Please, walk carefully and be mindful. Please don’t die.” On the single, Faith channels that message and spirit through a different lane, leaning towards Afro-soul, rooted in her Lagos upbring and years spent singing in the church choir, favoring testimony over manifesto.
With “Dàjú”, she works instinctively, letting personal storytelling and Yoruba emotional cadence carry the weight of her salient message.
