French-Congolese artist, Tiakola and Nigerian superstar, Rema team up for a cross-continental collaboration titled “Best”.
“Best” is the 7th track on Tiakola‘s recently released second studio album, ‘WpointM’. The track is a seamless blend of contemporary French melodic rap, Afropop, and Afrofusion. On the collab, Rema takes over the intro, pre-chorus, and chorus with an incredibly catchy, vulnerable, and romantic Afrobeats melody, singing lyrics like “I know I am a mess, a little drug-obsessed… I’m tryna be the best ’cause, baby, you deserve it” while Tiakola counters smoothly with his signature French rap cadences.
Produced by standout hitmakers including London (known for his frequent work with Rema), AOD, and Washy, the song has quickly risen to become one of the spotlight tracks of the album with over 160,000 youtube views in less than 24 hours.
