Multi-talented Nigerian singer and songwriter, Adekunle Gold has released an impressive new track dubbed, “It Is What It Is“.
“It Is What It is” serves as his first release since his previously released 2020 album, ‘Afro Pop Vol. 1‘. The less than three-minute offering was co-produced by talented beatmakers, Kali and Blaise Beatz.
The track borrows massively from his top-charting single ‘Okay’ and explicitly reflects the songwriter’s perspectives about interpersonal relationships, with emphasis on productive association without the need for hatred.
“People wey no dey feed you, always the first to talk about your life, Look at the irony, shame you for public, come dey beg for side ! Don’t get it twisted I no dey kiss ass, that shit is not healthy. Keeping my distance, some people are worse than pandemic“, Gold sings in a mixture of Pidgin and English. He also adds that money isn’t the source of happiness, but recognises the place of wealth in the survival and fulfillment of humans.
The emotion filled track was released alongside its MOM directed visuals.
