Multi-Award winning artiste and record label owner, Kendrick Lamar is set to release a comedic movie produced in collaboration with South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
The untitled Paramount Pictures production is set to be released on the 20th of March 2026, after a considered shift from the previously announced July 4, 2025 release date. The announcement comes ahead of Paramount’s CinemaCon presentation later this week, after the movie was teased at last year’s event.
The thematic plot of the movie remains under wraps; however, the film has been recorded and produced with production and script writing credits going to Kendrick Lamar, Dave Freeman, Trey Parker, Matt Stone and Vernon Chatman.
The production team had previously scheduled promotion activities geared towards the release of the movie this year; however, Kendrick Lamar‘s forthcoming concert tour with SZA and Stone & Parker‘s busy schedule have resulted in the delay of the movie premiere.
At last year’s CinemaCon, Paramount film chief Brian Robbins praised the movie for being “one of the funniest and most original scripts we’ve ever read.”
Stone and Parker, known for the creation of Comedy Central animated series South Park, have been in the movie industry since the 90’s and are in pole position to champion the successful release of the movie.
Lamar continues to revel in success following his triumphant victory in his rap battle against fellow rapper, Drake and his outstanding performance at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show. His accolades include the Pulitzer Prize for Music, an Emmy Award and various Grammy Awards in his achievement records.
