Tim Lyre & Show Dem Camp Deliver Socially Conscious Single, "Economy"

Nigerian Alternative singer, Tim Lyre and rap duo collective, Show Dem Camp collaborate on new single, “Economy”.

“Economy” is a socially conscious single that touches on the poor state of the Nigerian economy as Tim Lyre sings: “Ma lo ma fowo mi sere / Shey na for this bad economy / You wan Dey carry me dey play / So ti gbagbe Ki lo tun fe kin salaye / Shey na for tpain economy / You wan dey carry me dey play / Oh no no no Shey you carry money for hand o (Money for house) / Iyogogo (Owo epo) (Money for loud) / Ego Oyibo (Money for chow) / Money for table (Money for ground)”.

Show Dem Camp compliment the theme of the song as they rap: “Living in the jungle turn man into Mufasa / Lion wey dey hunt opportunity go catch am / Close mouths don’t get fed inside me casa / Shunning God’s will like Senator Natasha / Sapa fit turn you to poet like Mustafa / My guy passed the bar and he turned into a trapper”.

The song essentially circles round rhymes and word play that emphasize the bad state of the economy, but notwithstanding the hardship, struggle and strife, the artistes admit that life is transient and time needs to be made out for fun and recreation amidst the hustle and bustle.
